'Tis the Season

So, it's been a while. But lookie here! ----> It's my lovely cousins (only some of them) and I on Thanksgiving! Well, technically the day after. Each year we have a Thanksgiving theme, and this year was "Collegiate Prep", so basically, gossip girl perp look :D So of course, I was happy! (Though last year's theme: "Ugly Sweater Thanksgiving" was so much more fun!) But what I didn't expect with this Thanksgiving was the setup. Because there's so many of us in my family, we normally just have all of the food set up on a table and we all get in a line, get our food and sit where ever we want and eat like pigs. But this year, things were differet. We still ate like pigs, of course, and we totally did not let anything go to waste! My aunt is such a good cook, everybody ate their vegetables!

But THIS (below) is how we ate our Thanksgiving dinner.
I mean can you believe this!? A Filipino sit down dinner! There were a bunch of us! It was insane. But it was amazing. It was totally gossip girl :D I loved it.

I can't even expres to you how ligit this Thanksgiving was. We had placecards, menus, and it was a candle-lit dinner. I was utterly amazed. We did break tradition this year by not doing our Christmas lists on Thanksgiving, but we did them the day afterwards...the day we also surprised my aunt (who cooked all the food) at Boca di Beppo's for her birthday. I was once again in awe that this surprise birthday dinner stayed a surprise! It's so hard to keep a secret, especially with my family, but she didn't have any clue about it! I love my family. So much, that's really all I can say. They mean so much to me, and it sucks living away from them all. But, moving away from them was of course, inevitable. But oh well (: And now comes the Christmas season...the season of lights and gifts...but I'm really not that excited. I don't want any gifts this year, there's nothing I really need. And we all gotta remember that Jesus is the reason for the season :D
Let's not get sucked up into the materialistic world, yes? Cause in reality, I'm sick of it. This Christmas let's just be thankful for for our lives, and for the people in them.

Love,
-A.
